Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026. Elite Driver Training respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Who we are and how to contact us

Elite Driver Training provides driver lessons, assessments and training in the Kāpiti Coast and wider Wellington region. For privacy enquiries, requests to see or correct information, or complaints, email martin@elitedrivertraining.co.nz or phone 022 580 5660.

Information we collect

When you enquire or book a lesson or course, we may collect your name, contact details, licence stage, selected service, appointment times, selected vehicle type, pickup location, course details, booking and payment status, any notes you provide, and any required acceptance of booking terms. We also keep instructor-only lesson notes, student feedback and assessment information where needed to deliver training, support lessons and meet record-keeping obligations. Private instructor notes are not included in student feedback emails.

Please avoid including unnecessary medical or other sensitive information in the free-text booking notes. If accessibility or learning needs affect your lesson, you can contact us directly to discuss appropriate arrangements.

Why we use your information

We use information to manage bookings, confirm or change appointments, provide driver training, communicate about your service, manage legitimate payments, maintain training records, improve our service and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Service providers and overseas processing

Our website, protected admin portal and booking database use Cloudflare services, including Cloudflare Workers, D1 database storage and Cloudflare Access. Booking request receipts, approvals, declines, alternative-time notifications and appointment reminders may be sent through Cloudflare Email Service. To deliver these messages, the service processes the recipient’s email address and the minimum booking details included in the message. Our business also uses Google Workspace for business email and Google Maps links for directions; WhatsApp is an optional way to contact Martin, and using it involves processing under WhatsApp’s own privacy practices. We may use other contracted services to communicate with customers and operate the business. Where those providers process or store data outside New Zealand, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate protections. Where online card payment is required, Stripe processes the payment through its hosted Checkout service. Elite Driver Training receives payment status, amount and transaction references but does not receive or store your full card number, card security code or full card details. Stripe may process payment and technical information under its own privacy practices and service terms. Do not enter card numbers in booking notes or send them by email.

Who may see your information

Customer records are intended for authorised Elite Driver Training personnel and service providers who need access for the purposes above. We may disclose information where required by law, with your consent, or where otherwise permitted by law. Booking information is not made publicly available.

Storage and retention

We take reasonable security precautions, including access controls for the administrative system. We retain records for as long as they are needed for the stated purposes or required by law, including applicable driving-instruction record-keeping obligations, and then securely delete or de-identify information when practicable. We do not promise immediate deletion where legal retention requirements apply.

Website analytics and technical data

Our hosting providers may process limited technical data (such as IP addresses, requests and security logs) for operating and protecting the website. The booking page includes a Google Maps aerial map. Loading the map may share your IP address and browser information with Google and is subject to Google's privacy practices. If additional cookies or analytics tools are added, this policy should be updated to explain their use.

Access and correction

You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you by contacting us at the details above. We may need to confirm your identity before releasing personal records. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner with concerns about the handling of personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the services, booking system or our legal obligations change. The current version will be available on this page.
