Answers to common questions about driving lessons, vehicles, licence preparation, Module 5 drives and booking with Elite Driver Training in Kāpiti.
What areas do you cover?
Elite Driver Training provides driving lessons and driver coaching throughout the Kāpiti Coast, including Waikanae, Paraparaumu, Raumati and surrounding areas.
Can I use my own car?
Yes. Clients can use their own vehicle provided it is roadworthy, registered, has a current Warrant of Fitness where required and is suitable for the training being undertaken.
Can I use an Elite Driver Training vehicle?
Yes. Select the EDT vehicle option when booking if it is available for your chosen service.
Do you provide learner driving lessons?
Yes. Lessons can be tailored to complete beginners through to learners preparing for their restricted licence test.
Do you provide restricted licence test preparation?
Yes. Restricted licence preparation can include an assessment of your current driving, identification of areas requiring improvement and targeted coaching before your practical test.
Do you offer AA Defensive Driving Module 5 observational drives?
Yes. Elite Driver Training provides Module 5 in-car observational drives for eligible AA Defensive Driving Course participants. A dedicated Book Module 5 option is available through the website.
What happens if my vehicle isn't roadworthy?
The lesson or assessment may not be able to proceed if the vehicle does not meet legal or safety requirements. Clients should check their vehicle, including tyres, lights, registration and Warrant of Fitness, before attending.
Do you provide lessons for overseas drivers?
Yes. Coaching can be provided for overseas licence holders who want help adapting to New Zealand roads, road rules and driving conditions.
How long is a lesson?
Most lessons are approximately 60 minutes, although longer sessions may be available depending on the type of training.
